What AI changes about the finance job you want.

Most of what gets written about AI in finance is aimed at the people buying it: vendor pages, consultancy reports, launch news. These guides are for the person being hired. Banks, funds and buyout firms license much the same models and point them at very different work, so each area below starts from the question a candidate actually asks.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Where should I start?
With an interview coming up, start with The Tools, because the software a junior opens is the easiest thing for an interviewer to check. If you are still deciding whether the analyst route is worth it, start with Getting Hired. Engineers weighing an AI seat at a bank or a fund should start with The Roles.
How are the guides organised?
Into 5 areas, each built around one question: which AI tools you will use, which AI jobs exist, how hiring is changing, what each bank built, and how deal teams use AI. Each area opens with an overview that links down to the deeper guides.
Do I need to code to use them?
No. The Tools, Getting Hired and The Banks are written for finance candidates with no programming background. The Roles carries the engineering detail, for readers heading into AI and machine learning seats.
Is this only about banks?
No. The same AI models reach hedge funds, asset managers and buyout firms, pointed at different work. The Banks covers what the big banks built, the Private Equity area follows AI through a deal, and The Roles covers AI seats at trading firms and asset managers.
